Since 2012, ATOMIC has been honored to support the annual Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn of NYC’s Central Park. Over the course of 9 years, our team has managed everything from custom fabrication to installation to technical design to art direction.
CUSTOM FABRICATION
In 2021, ATOMIC was responsible for building:
- The aluminum skyline
- The show floors
- The overhead ring
- The metallic trim on all the video products
- The silver columns and flats on the truss towers
SUSTAINABILITY
We were challenged by our partners at Global Citizen to maximize the usage of sustainable materials in development of this year’s set. In response, our team worked closely with the Stufish Design team to think through the before and afterlife of each set piece.
Our sustainable initiatives included:
- Wrapping the large red Global Citizen banner on the overhead ring with fabric made completely from recycled plastic bottles
- Using recyclable polished raw aluminum on the skyline silhouettes and truss towers that flanked the main stage
- Building the overhead ring by refurbishing existing materials from 2020’s overhead ring
Global Citizen Live 2021 was to gain awareness for their Recovery Plan for the World campaign which focuses on five key objectives: ending COVID-19 for all, ending the hunger crisis, resuming learning for all, protecting the planet, and advancing equity for all.
Thousands of fans enjoyed this day-long unforgettable show for a good cause, and it couldn’t have happened without our insanely talented partners:
