Description

Team ATOMIC was thrilled to join the production team for the 2021 Super Bowl LV Halftime Show, featuring an electrifying performance by The Weeknd.

Creating the Halftime Show is always a master class in blending precision logistics, high profile design expectations and functional execution, and 2021 proved to be no different. Additionally, due to COVID-19 protocols, the show was reimagined for the first time ever as a set that didn’t roll onto the field during halftime. This new perspective was masterfully managed by Bruce Rodgers with Tribe Design as he led a consortium of scene shops to bring Creative Director Es Devlin’s vision to life. A baker’s dozen custom LED bulb signs, some massive silhouette flats, and just under 700 linear feet of LED-edged and backlit city skyline later, this incredible set gave Team ATOMIC something extra to cheer for on Super Bowl Sunday.

Special thanks to TAIT and All Access for the collaborative build of this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show set; to Lighting Designer Al Gurdon for his masterful use of the lighting integrated into the set; and to the NFL, Jesse Collins Entertainment, and our good friends at Diversified Production Services for leading the production team.
