Joy at Gaylord National Resort

Description

Christmas on the Potomac just got a whole lot brighter! The Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, MD housed a new holiday show “Joy” for the 2017 winter holiday season. Chris Werner Design brought ATOMIC to the table to design and fabricate the structures for 19 twelve-foot-tall white stars with LED video nodes. The giant stars were integrated by 4Wall DC and hung at various heights throughout the 19-story glass atrium. Weighing in at 300 lbs., each star had 1,960 hand-placed pixels for a grand total of 111,720 channels of control.

The #JoyatGaylord show featured music, dancing and a light show with the LED stars adding a lot of extra twinkle! Our team tackled the challenge of rigging the stars over the existing set pieces of trees and buildings in the atrium, as well as loading in quietly and quickly overnight. The inaugural show was a great success and a big thanks to all the key players – Chris Werner Design, 4Wall D.C., PSAV and Gaylord National Resort.
