SDG Pavilion
Description
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Pavilion, hosted during the 78th annual United Nations General Assembly, stands as a pinnacle event advocating for global sustainability and development. In collaboration with Empire, the ATOMIC Custom Fabrication team undertook a monumental task in constructing a visually stunning installation for the 2023 Pavilion. Working closely with acclaimed designer Es Devlin, ATOMIC brought to life a design that not only captured the essence of the SDGs but also served as a beacon of hope and inspiration for attendees and viewers worldwide.
ATOMIC’s scope of work involved bringing Es Devlin’s vision to fruition by constructing 17 monoliths, each representing one of the 17 SDGs and adorned in a corresponding color. These monoliths were meticulously designed and fabricated to convey the essence and importance of each goal for global sustainability. ATOMIC constructed the 16’ tall monoliths, ensuring their stability and durability for outdoor installation. The sleek and minimalist design allowed the monoliths to stand out in the outdoor setting, commanding attention and sparking dialogue among Pavilion attendees. The interactive monoliths served as the walls of the custom-built pavilion venue, which was strategically positioned on the lawn of the United Nations in New York City.
ATOMIC’s contribution to the SDG Summit left a lasting impression on attendees and viewers alike. The installation not only served as a striking visual centerpiece but also sparked meaningful conversations and inspired action towards achieving the SDGs.
