Description

Madison Square Garden was filled with festive fun as the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball hit the stage with performances from Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Camilla Cabello and many more. ATOMIC was excited to once again design and build the scenery for the tour as well as the televised event in Madison Square Garden.

ATOMIC Production Designer Charlie Cook worked with the Modular Systems and Set Construction teams to complete a rock-star look for the show. Cook introduced brand-new Modular Systems’ products ZigZag, LightPane and Poppies into his design. ZigZag panels hung on both sides of the stage with impressive LED making these angular accent pieces stand out. Aluminum Poppy rings surrounded the ZigZag panels, with LED trim included in the rings to also make them stand out. Standing on the stage were FASTwall Jolt panels built into festive tree shapes and the turntable wall which included the brand-new LightPane lightbox panels hung as diamonds.

Taking a break from the stage design, Cook had fun designing a cake prop that was wheeled onto the stage and gifted from Elvis Duran to music sensation Taylor Swift for her 30th birthday. The cat-themed cake included custom sculpting, painting and graphics to complete Cook’s design, and ended up being one of the most Instagram-able moments of the night.

Special thanks to our client and partners on another successful iHeartRadio Jingle Ball: The team at iHeartMedia, Video Director Brent Sandrock, DPS, and Tom Kenny and his a-class team of video programmers!
