Position Objective
Work with all ATOMIC profit centers to create design concepts, renderings and floor plans for small to mid-scale client and internal projects. This role also supports Production Designers on large scale projects.
Core Responsibilities
- Produce original designs or work with existing designs to meet client expectations with overall look, budget, and timeline.
- Produce ground plans and elevations for a project, turning drawings into 3D models and renderings.
- Present concepts, designs, and renderings for internal and external clients.
- Support Production Designers with all aspects of the custom design process as necessary.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously with the ability prioritize and deliver to deadlines.
- Solve problems and be resourceful and adaptable to client needs including maintaining knowledge of finishes, materials, and construction processes including ATOMIC modular systems.
- Remain current with industry trends and technology.
- Be proactive with professional development.
Organizational Relationships
- The Designer reports to the Design Program Manager.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with After Effects, InDesign, Cinema 4D and SketchUp
- Demonstrated experience in Vectorworks or other CAD programs
- Experience as a CG artist
- Photo realistic rendering background
- Strong interpersonal skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of all facets of scenic construction, rigging, lighting and video.
- Solid knowledge of theater terms and operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Credentials and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Scenic Design or related field OR 5 years of related design experience.
- Maintain a valid passport.
Physical Requirements
- Those necessary for general office work and occasional work on site at event venues.
Work Environment
- Primarily office environment, with shop environment at times.
- Travel with work outdoors and inside event venues
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the year, both domestically and internationally
