Scenic Carpenter - Atomic Design

Position Objective

Build and assemble wooden scenic elements based on a plan, drawing or request.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $22.00-26.50 hourly.  Compensation beyond this range may be considered, depending on specific experience.

    4. The dynamic nature of the live events industry requires flexibility to work overtime, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, as dictated by project schedules and client needs.
  2. Perform all carpentry tasks with a focus on quality assurance, attention to detail, and adherence to ATOMIC’s standards and best practices.
  3. Prepare finished pieces for next step of process (paint, labelling, packaging, etc.)
  4. Maintain a clean and organized wood shop.
  5. Keep accurate records of inventory usage.

Organizational Relationships

The Carpenter reports to the Wood Shop Lead.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong carpentry skills.
  • Experience with laminate, veneer, joinery, applying spray adhesives, assembling casework spackling/filling voids.
  • Experience with woodworking tools including but not limited to table saw, planer, edge bander, shaper, etc.
  • Working knowledge of scenic construction and rigging.
  • Knowledge of theater terms and procedures.
  • Ability to read drawings and ground plans.

Credentials & Experience

  • 5+ years of applicable scenic carpentry experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Those necessary for general warehouse work

Work Environment

Typical manufacturing environment for the majority of the time with occasional offsite work at industry-based venues.
