Description

What happens when you take a luxury department store on Fifth Ave and add Nike during New York Fashion Week? A super cool fashion-meets-smashed-basketball theme spews in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman, and the ATOMIC Set Construction Team was thrilled to be involved!

The first window display featured the Nike Destroyer Jacket hanging below a neon sign built in front of a cracked backboard. Below the jacket a cracked glass mirror floor with a basketball topped off the “destroyed” look. The lit star was a florescent light display built with depth so that it only looked like a star head-on.

The next three windows were all based around the new Nike DUNK R.T. shoes, designed in collaboration with famous Italian Designer Riccardo Tisci. The first window included a custom concrete scenic treatment on the back and sides of the window, with maple floor boards popping out from the floor and custom neon’s hanging within. The second R.T. window featured a scenic painted marbled backboard with scenic rusted steel and chainlink fencing. Two custom aluminum backboards were built with custom crazed acrylic to give the appearance of broken and cracked glass. Dark hardwood floorboards finished off the look. The last window included more neons, a white painted chainlink fence, curved acrylic mirror and exposed wires.

Overall, it was super fun squeezing into the windows on Fifth Ave with some super sweet scenery! Special thanks to our client and partners Nike Brand Design and Hotel Creative for including us on this one-of-a-kind experience!
